MISSION STATEMENT
In the act of scholarship we use the classics to inform conservative principles as a tool for citizenship and everyday life.
WHY THE NAME?
Since second grade, I was taught to elevate myself to the status of "scholar," as opposed to the traditional "student." In essence, true scholarship is characterized by a love of, and lifelong pursuit of, learning. Now, at Hillsdale College, I will continue as a scholar of the classics to inform my current role as citizen and future role as statesman. As my journey towards being a scholarly citizen continues, I will share lessons from the classroom on this platform.
TO WHAT PURPOSE?
As I continue growing into adulthood, I often reflect on my past education and where it has led me. Since a classical education is increasingly rare for those in public schooling, I hope to make some of the ideas accessible in an easy-to-swallow form. I do not claim to have all the answers, but I hope to continue a conversation of the Great Books and Great Ideas of human history to foster more discourse and thought.
